QUEEN DELLA FOUNDATION
Be the hand that lifts others up
Queen Della Foundation Ghana was established in 2016 by Vida Anagblah, a passionate advocate and survivor whose life story is powerfully captured in her book Stolen Childhood. Born and raised in Ghana, Queen Della endured a deeply challenging upbringing marked by hardship, instability, and the absence of consistent parental care.
As a young girl, she faced circumstances that forced her into responsibilities far beyond her age. Moving between relatives and struggling environments, she experienced neglect, emotional hardship, and situations that disrupted her education and personal development. Her story reflects the painful realities many children face—child labor, interrupted schooling, and the fight to survive in the absence of support and protection.
Through her lived experiences, Vida Anagblah became aware that her story was not unique. Many children across communities in Ghana continue to battle similar challenges—ranging from poor academic performance and school dropouts to teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, and lack of guidance. These issues often stem from poverty, broken homes, and limited access to opportunities.
Motivated by her past and driven by a desire to create change, Vida Anagblah founded the Queen Della Foundation. The organization is dedicated to restoring hope, dignity, and opportunity to underprivileged children and vulnerable individuals through impactful programs, advocacy, and community support initiatives.
Today, the Queen Della Foundation stands as a beacon of hope—working tirelessly to transform lives, empower the next generation, and ensure that no child’s story is defined by hardship alone. The foundation is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) under the Companies Code of 1963 (Act 179) in Ghana, committed to making a lasting difference in society.
Vision Statement
At the Queen Della Foundation, our vision is to build a society where every child is seen, heard, protected, and empowered to reach their full potential regardless of their background. We envision communities where children are free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation—where education is not a privilege but a right, and where every young person is equipped with the tools, support, and opportunities needed to thrive.
We aspire to raise a generation of confident, resilient, and purpose-driven individuals who will break cycles of poverty and hardship, becoming agents of change in their own communities. Through sustained impact and collective responsibility, we aim to create a future where no child’s destiny is limited by their circumstances, and where hope is restored in every life we touch.
Mission Statement
The Queen Della Foundation exists to uplift, protect, and empower vulnerable children and young people by addressing the root causes of social challenges affecting their growth and development. Drawing from real-life experiences and inspired by the powerful story behind Stolen Childhood, we are deeply committed to creating meaningful change in the lives of those who have been overlooked and underserved.
Our mission is to provide access to quality education, mentorship, emotional support, and life-changing opportunities for children facing hardship. We actively work to combat issues such as child labor, school dropout, teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, and lack of parental guidance through targeted interventions and community engagement.
We collaborate with families, schools, and communities to build safe and supportive environments where children can grow with dignity and confidence. Through advocacy, outreach programs, and empowerment initiatives, we strive to give every child a voice, restore their sense of worth, and help them rewrite their story into one of strength, purpose, and possibility.
